Many have asked me, Bianca, what does the inside of the Disney wish look like?

Well, today we’re going to get to peek inside the Disney Wish!

You will get to see what the inside of a stateroom will look like on Disney’s Newest Ship The Disney Wish. Plus a behind-the-scenes look at how they built the rooms!

Cruising With Disney Cruise Line

If you’re wondering what a Disney cruise is, or what they include I’ve got everything you need to know!

But for this post, I’ll keep it short!

Why Cruise with Disney

Cruising with Disney at least for my family is such a relaxing experience! There is nothing out there like it! There is always something to do for everyone in the family from infants, kids, tweens, teens, and adults there is something for you.

You could also choose to do nothing and just relax lol we love the 5-star dining and the fact that all food is included (alcohol is additional), also there is always a cheap and delicious drink of the day!

There are kids, tween, and teen clubs on board that will keep the kids entertained and out of your hair if you’d like some time to relax in the adult-only areas of the ship!

They have multiple entertainment venues some for families and some for adults only as well as multiple themed lounges and shopping! Don’t even get me started on Castaway Cay Disney’s private island, we would be here all day! It’s absolutely stunning!

There is no end to what you can do, and we never have enough time to do it all!

We just got off the Disney Dream 2 days ago, this is my second Disney Cruise and I still couldn’t get even half of the stuff the ship offered done!

I could talk all day about why to cruise with Disney but that’s not what this article is about 😂 so I’ll set my lecture aside for my other articles!

Instead, I will just give you a quick run down of what’s included for those who don’t know!

What’s Included on a Disney Cruise

  • Enchanting Entertainment: Delight in Broadway-caliber musicals, see your favorite Disney characters in new and exciting ways and enjoy a new fireworks show at sea (fireworks on most cruises).
  • Spacious Staterooms: Designed for Families: extra space and storage, sitting area, and split bath to allow more people to get ready at the same time.
  • Disney’s Private Island: Relax in paradise with beach chairs, umbrellas, waterslides, and barbecue lunch (on most Bahamian and Caribbean cruises).
  • Variety of Dining Options: Enjoy upscale restaurants, casual dining, poolside snacks, and 24-hour room service.
  • Imaginative Youth Clubs: Play in themed clubs for every age, staffed by specially trained Disney counselors.
  • Nightclubs & Lounges: Discover adults-only areas that include a variety of bars and pubs.
  • Pools & Recreation: Splash it up in freshwater pools and waterslides at sea.

The Pandemic & Cruising

We have been hooked from the moment we stepped on our first ship the Disney Magic in Jan 2020 (right before the pandemic began).

If you’re interested in how the Disney Cruise Line was before the pandemic you can get an inside look from my DCL Pre-Pandemic: A look inside series. I have a whole collection of posts and videos from our cruise before it all started!

This picture is of is my daughter Sophia aged 6 at the time on our 1st Disney Cruise on the Disney Magic ship, we were eating at Animators Pallete on Pirate night!

Disney Returns to Sailing

We knew once we stepped off the ship we would sail again!

We actually had already booked an April 2020 cruise, which obviously didn’t happen.

This past July 2021 Disney began sailing again, with some new policies designed to keep everyone safe as well as appease the CDC and the ports they visit, the Bahamian government for example currently requires all disembarking patrons to be vaccinated.

If you have a child (like me) who is under 5 and can’t be vaccinated, to get off the ship at a port like Nassau for example I would be able to only if I had booked a Disney Port Excursion, otherwise, we could not get off the ship!

This is definitely something to be aware of, especially if you plan to hop off the ship and just roam free!

Thankfully this doesn’t apply to Disney’s private island Castaway Cay!

We just got back from our first cruise since the pandemic and I have all kinds of info, tips & tricks for sailing during 2022-2023!

A Peek Inside the Disney Wish

Most of us have seen the beautiful renderings of the Grand Atrium but very few have gotten to see what the gorgeous 2 story suite and the regular stateroom will look like!

We also get to see a few of the behind-the-scenes images of how they put the rooms together!

Guest staterooms are truly home at sea — they are peaceful, calming, functional, and infused with enchanting details that make them uniquely Disney. The story of how the staterooms came to find their home on the Disney Wish is nearly as magical as the end result!

These rooms are so well designed that the moment you step in you feel like you are immersed in the story!

I absolutely LOVE that they have made this Cinderella-themed!

All of the other ships are beautiful and creative in their own right but it’s about time the most iconic Disney story was featured don’t you think?

I definitely can not wait to be aboard!

Me and everyone else will have to wait a bit longer though because Disney just announced that the Disney Wish Inaugural Sailing has had to be delayed until mid-July 2022, they state the disappointing news by adding this is the result of the pandemic, specifically omicron, causing the shipyard to be shorthanded.

Which of course in turn held up production.

Ah alas, we will have to hang on just a bit longer!

My daughter is 8 and is so excited to see the theme throughout the ship, experience all the new restaurants, shows, and 1st theme park water ride? on the sea!

Here is what Disney has to say

The design process begins with collaboration.

Walt Disney Imagineering spent years working with designers and artists to examine every detail; carefully considering how color, light, and shapes interact to ensure the environment we create is both restful and magical. Since the majority of the finished pieces for the Disney Wish were fabricated offsite, our team built hundreds of mockups prior to final construction in order to visualize how everything is coming together. It is all about attention to detail!

Once the design is finalized, we hit “full steam ahead” on the production line! The 1,254 staterooms are manufactured on an assembly line, where each piece is carefully installed on a conveyor belt. That includes everything from furniture and walls to artwork and lighting.

The final magic touch is when the staterooms are placed on the ship. That’s right – a crane lifts each one and places it on the Disney Wish.

Staterooms are the perfect blend of what Imagineering does best: artistry and technical perfection. It is a priority for every aspect of our design to be both narratively beautiful and highly functional to provide Guests with the best experience! Everything we do is with our Guests in mind.

What is Imagineering?

I’m a sucker for some great Imagineering!

Imagineering is exactly what it sounds like, with a sprinkling of pixie dust! 😊

The crosssection of imagination and engineering!

The ‘Imagineers’ are Disney Cast members responsible for designing and crafting all the amazing details, scenes, decor, and environment you experience at Disney!

I love finding all the nooks and crannies around Disney World that are so carefully created and themed with such amazing attention to detail!

When the Disney Wish sets sail next July and Guests are finally at rest after a day of adventure and enchantment, we hope they can feel just a little more magic knowing each piece was carefully designed to bring Disney stories to life.
